RONNIE MOORE has called on North-East football fans to rally round and help keep Hartlepool United in the Football League.

With no Premier League or Championship programme this weekend, Pools hope their decision to drop ticket prices to £10 for their game with Cambridge will see an increased crowd inside Victoria Park.

Last weekend’s Park The Park scheme saw the second largest crowd of the season cheer Pools to a crucial 1-0 triumph over Mansfield Town.

Pools are one point from safety at the foot of the table and three points against Cambridge should see them off the bottom for the first time since October.

And boss Moore said: “It’s another great gesture from the Chairman and hopefully we’ll get another good response because the way the fans got behind us on Saturday went a long way to helping us get the result.

“The backing the team enjoyed was fantastic so hopefully we can get another good crowd or an even better one and they can help carry us out of the bottom two for the first time in a long while.

“The noise created to help us over the line near the end was brilliant and if we can get that again this weekend then it will give everyone a boost.

“I know it’s an international weekend too so if there are Middlesbrough, Sunderland or Newcastle fans out there at a loose end then come and get behind us trying to keep this North-East club in the league.

“It’s a great opportunity for as many fans as possible to come along and join us, hopefully see a good game of football and, most importantly, cheer us on to the three points.”

Seating tickets will cost just £12 for adults (£6 concessions), while standing tickets are only £10 and £5

Tickets are on sale now from the Victoria Park ticket office but they are also able to buy on the turnstiles prior to kick-off on Saturday.
