Spennymoor manager Jason Ainsley wants three points today at Prescot Cables as a tonic for a busy schedule of games.

Moors are in action in every midweek during March. They have a Durham Challenge Cup semi final coming up on Tuesday against Shildon and eight league games, three of which are away in midweek.

They are currently in fifth place in the table, five points behind third placed Northwich with four games in hand. Prescot are currently third bottom of the table, but picked up a point in a goalless draw at the Brewery Field back in August.

Ainsley said; “We approach every game the same, for me it doesn't matter if a team is up the top end or near the bottom, there are no easy games in this league.

“I have found that if we do not play anywhere near our best we will not get anything out of the game as has been proven. Prescot had a great win on Monday away at Harrogate Railway and have won two out of their last three games, so they will be a very difficult test but we are going into the game with real optimism.

“We have a busy schedule coming up and three points today will be a real tonic for the week ahead.”

Midfielder Lewis Hawkins will return after missing the last three matches because of injury, while defender Kallum Griffiths has recovered from a stiff neck. However, defender Paul Johnson is still injured with an Achilles problem.

Meanwhile, Ainsley has still to make a decision on whether to play a full strength team or not in the semi final against Shildon on Tuesday night. Durham FA have told Moors that if they beat Shildon then the final will be played on Good Friday regardless, and Moors have a vital league game at Salford the following day.
