Spennymoor are hoping to strengthen their position in the play offs at home to Warrington Town on Saturday.

Moors go into the game in fifth place in the table, and having not lost at home since October when they were beaten by Bamber Bridge. They are currently a point behind Harrogate RA with five games in hand, and six points behind Darlington having played a game more.

Moors lost to Warrington earlier in the season, and manager Jason Ainsley said; “It won’t be a revenge mission or anything like that, but I’d like to think we’ve improved since we lost to them early on in the season. It’s an opportunity to get another three points against a very well organised team who will be a tough nut to crack.”

Warrington made a name for themselves earlier in the season when they defeated Exeter City in the first round of the FA Cup, but then lost to Gateshead in the next round.

Defender Joe Tait return to the squad after a one match ban, while midfielder Robert Briggs is included in the squad after recovering from a knee injury, and might make his debut.

However, striker Nathan Fisher could miss the game because of a knee injury, while another striker, Ian Ward, has been placed on the transfer list.
