GATESHEAD will host Wrexham in an FA Trophy third-round replay on Wednesday after drawing 1-1 in North Wales.
Newcastle United loanee Adam Campbell made it three goals in the space of two games as he broke the deadlock at the Racecourse Ground in the 27th minute.
Andrai Jones delivered a dangerous cross, and Campbell found the top corner of the net with a composed first-time finish.
Gateshead’s lead did not last long though, with Andy Bishop sweeping home an equaliser just seven minutes after the visitors’ goal.
Wes York swung over a dangerous ball from the right, and after Adam Bartlett pulled off a fine low save to deny Mark Carrington, Bishop was on hand to fire home.
Campbell had an effort chalked off for offside as Gateshead continued to push, and John Oster came within inches of claiming a second-half winner as his 20-yard free-kick rebounded off the post.
Gateshead: Bartlett, Jones, Curtis, Clark, Baxter, Gjokaj, Chandler (Sainte-Luce, 54), Turnbull, Oster, Pattison (Robson, 54), Campbell (Shaw, 68).
