Five-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan continued his swift progress through the International Championship draw, beating Li Hang to reach the quarter-finals.

A second successive 6-1 win in Chengdu, having beaten Anthony McGill by the same scoreline, saw the 'Rocket' through to a clash with Mark Williams.

O'Sullivan flew through the first frame and was in first in the second, but a break of 88 saw Li come back to level at 1-1.

But a foul allowed O'Sullivan to take the third with a 90 break and he added the fourth with a 50.

A 40 break was enough to seal a scrappy fifth frame and take the World number four within two frames of victory.

He set up the next with a 63, Li's attempted fightback stalling on the green, and victory was completed with a 53.

He will play two-time world champion Williams, who followed up his success against Barry Hawkins with four half-century breaks in a 6-4 win over Sam Baird.

Mark Allen ended the run of Stuart Bingham with a hard-fought 6-4 win and will face Wales' Michael White, a 6-2 winner over Ian Burns.

Robert Milkins beat Xiao Guodong 6-4, despite a 122 from the Chinese player in frame nine. The Gloucester player will take on Marco Fu, who beat Rod Lawler by the same scoreline.

Ricky Walden saw off Neil Robertson's conqueror Joe Swail 6-4 to set up a clash with Jamie Burnett, who finally saw off the dogged Peter Ebdon 6-2 to add to the second-round scalp of Judd Trump.

*Liang Wenbo has been fined £8,000 by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association after admitting bringing the game into disrepute.

The Chinese player was charged over an incident at August's Paul Hunter Classic in Furth which saw him verbally abuse the match referee and concede his last-16 match against Mark Selby, in breach of the WPBSA player contract.

Liang was found to be in dispute of WPBSA rules 1.1: Members shall, at all times, behave in a proper and correct manner consistent with their status as professional sportsmen; and 1.2: A Member shall not make or cause to be made any statement or commit or cause to be committed any act which in the reasonable view of the WPBSA is likely to bring into disrepute the games of snooker and/or billiards.

A statement released via worldsnooker.com read: "The WPBSA Disciplinary Committee consider that the behaviour of Liang Wenbo was unacceptable and is damaging to the sport and its reputation."

Liang was also ordered to pay £500 toward the costs of the hearing.
