YORK CITY’S worries at the wrong end of League Two increased with a 2-0 defeat at Dagenham & Redbridge.

The Minstermen were undone by two goals from Joss Labadie which leaves them just two points above the relegation zone; a place above Hartlepool.

It is a far cry from last season’s play-off push and manager Nigel Worthington is struggling to understand why his team is so inconsistent.

Worthington, whose side have won just one of their last 15 games, told the York Press: “We had three or four half chances and got some good balls in to their box but when the second goal went in, it was game over really. We accepted defeat far too readily after the second goal and, if you compare us to the second half of last season, it’s like chalk and cheese.”

Labadie scored his first in the 35th minute when he fired in following a clever cut back from Ashley Chambers. He added a second just after the hour when he headed in Chambers’ free-kick.
