NEWCASTLE UNITED have been boosted by the news that Siem de Jong is fit to tomorrow’s game at Aston Villa, although Cheick Tiote remains out.
De Jong missed last weekend’s defeat to Manchester City because of a calf injury, but he has recovered and will be part of the squad that travels to Villa Park.
Tiote, who Pardew revealed has been the subject of a “derisory” transfer bid, has started training following a hamstring injury but will not feature this weekend.
“Siem de Jong has trained all week and will be in the squad for Villa,” Pardew said.
“Tiote has been running outside and working towards training.”
