COLIN COOPER has confirmed striker Luke James has reiterated his desire to leave Hartlepool United.

The striker put a transfer request in on Monday, but followed up with a second on Tuesday evening, after playing in Pools’ 2-0 home defeat to Dagenham.

Peterborough are keen on the 19-year-old striker and have submitted a bid for his services, although it is understood be be not close to the £1m mark reported.

Cooper said this morning: “All I can say is that, as a contracted player I expected him to play the other night and he did himself credit. After the game I was handed another transfer request, so that’s where we are.’’

James and Cooper are expected to hold talks after training today to try and determine his future.

Pools will set off for Saturday’s game at Wimbledon in the morning and James is expected to be part of the squad that travels.

Pools have today signed Charlie Wyke on loan for a month from Middlesbrough. The striker has previously been on loan at Pools in the 2012/13 season and last season played against Pools while on loan for Saturday's opponents Wimbledon.
