Sunderland have completed the signing of midfielder Will Buckley from Brighton and Hove Albion FC, for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year winger arrives on Wearside after agreeing a three-year deal at the Stadium of Light.

Buckley, who is believed to have cost £2.5m, spent three years on the south coast, making over 70 appearances under Gus Poyet at Brighton, scoring 16 goals.

He becomes Sunderland’s seventh summer signing, following the arrivals of Jack Rodwell, Costel Pantilimon, Jordi Gomez, Billy Jones, Patrick van Aanholt and Santiago Vergini.
