Malton & Norton’s Simon Dyson finished strongly at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open by climbing in to a top 30 finish.
Dyson followed up a third round 68 with a one-under 70 in his final round to end on two-under for the tournament at Royal Aberdeen. His Sunday round included three bogeys .
Hartlepool’s Graeme Storm was also solid during his final 18 holes when he carded a 70, which saw him finish with a 285 one-over total. That was well short of the score required to earn a place at this week’s Open.
After starting with a birdie and eagle he looked like climbing up the leaderboard on the final day, but a double bogey at the fourth was followed by two birdies and two bogeys so he had to make do with a top 60 placing.
The Scottish Open was the last opportunity for Storm and Dyson to try to clinch a place at the Open at Royal Liverpool.
