SOME of the North-East’s top boxers are getting ready to ‘rumble’ at a special event this weekend.

The fourth annual Summer Rumble, being held at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on Sunday, July 13 will feature ten-bouts in total, with two derby title fights topping the bill.

This includes a Northern Area Middleweight title fight between Sunderland’s Jonson McClumpha and Horden’s Greg O’Neil, as well as the night’s feature clash, which will see Sunderland fighter Lee Mould and Newcastle-based Gary Fox battle it out for the Northern Area Light Welterweight title.

The event, being run in partnership between Phil Jeffries, father of Olympic boxing medalist Tony Jeffries and Wraith Promotions Ltd, will also feature appearances by two-time Olympian Thomas Essomba, former amateur champion Daniel Cope, Commonwealth gold medalist Simon Valilly, unbeaten pro Anthony Hardy and Sunderland-based Prize Fighter Glenn Foot, who is making his return from injury.

Tickets for the Summer Rumble, priced at £35 per person or £45 per person including Sunday lunch, are available now at www.wraithpromotions.com.
