GRAEME STORM was unable to make sufficient progress on the final day of the BMW International Open in Germany to claim a top 20 finish.

Storm, tied third at the end of the first round, slipped slowly down the charts over the remaining few rounds to end tied 51st at Gut Larchenhof.

The Hartlepool golfer recovered from an early bogey five at the second by eagling the third but he struggled for consistency from there on in.

As well as three further bogeys and a double bogey five at the 16th, Storm also birdied five holes on his way to carding a one-under 71 which saw him finish on nine-under for the tournament.

That was ten shots off the four-strong lead group of Fabrizio Zanotti, Gregory Havret, Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Henrik Stenson, who headed in to a play-off.

Storm still has plenty of work to do to earn his card for next season in the remaining months of the Race to Dubai 2014.

Malton & Norton’s Simon Dyson did motor up the leaderboard yesterday. After three solid rounds he carded his second six-under 66 to climb to tied fifth along with Thongchai Jaidee and Jamie Donaldson. Harrogate’s John Parry missed the cut on Friday on ten-over.
