YORKSHIRE are on the verge of a crucial LV= County Championship win over Northamptonshire at Wantage Road having taken three of the seven wickets they needed at the start of day four.

Northants have fallen from 66-3 to 119-6 from 46 overs at lunch in pursuit of 432. Tim Bresnan, Jack Brooks and Liam Plunkett have taken a wicket apiece. Rob Newton and Ben Duckett are the not out batsmen.

Bresnan trapped Matt Spriegel lbw offering no shot with the first ball of the day after a 35-minute delay for rain.

Brooks then had Rob Keogh caught behind before Plunkett had Andrew Hall caught at cover after an aborted pull shot.

This would be Yorkshire’s third win in seven matches this season and their second over Northants.
