Larsson signs new three-year deal with Sunderland
SEB Larsson has ended the uncertainty over his future by signing a new three-year deal with Sunderland.
Larsson's previous contract expired at the end of last season, and he had spoken to a number of clubs interested in acquiring his services including Stoke City, Borussia Monchengladbach, Besiktas and Galatasaray.
However, the Sweden international has opted to remain at the Stadium of Light for another years, with his new deal running until the summer of 2017.
Larsson said: "I’m delighted to have signed a new deal with the club. I’ve had talks with Gus (Poyet) and Lee Congerton and I feel that this is a club moving in the right direction and I want to be part of it.
“I had a few options but I want to be at Sunderland and I’m looking forward to the new season."
