Thanks for checking out the blog today, we've got full interviews and reaction from the game across the rest of the weekend, on the website and in your Northern Echo on Monday morning.

4:55pm

Sholing 1 West Auckland Town 0

West Auckland's players fall to the floor after Sholing held out to deny the Northern League side. The league's stranglehold on the old trophy comes to an end.

Time running out...

4:50pm

Corner to West. Knight hits the bar. So close. Two minutes of added on time to go. Brian Close booked for a foul as Sholing break.

4:48pm

Sholing 1 West Auckland Town 0

FOUR minutes added.

4:46pm

Sholing 1 West Auckland Town 0

Two minutes of normal time here, can West do it?

4:41pm

Sholing 1 West Auckland Town 0

Sawyer booked for a nasty challenge.

4:39pm

Sholing 1 West Auckland Town 0

Dennis Knight draws a great save out of Brown from a free-kick in a dangerous position. Ten minutes left for West to turn this around.

4:38pm

Sholing 1  West Auckland Town 0

Richardson and Banks come on for Moffat and Vipond respectively, while Sholing bring Brewster on for Bowers, and Alex Sawyer for Fennemore.

4:30pm

Sholing 1 (McClean 70) West Auckland Town 0

So cruel for West - and particularly Lewis Galpin, who tracked back to tackle the onrushing McClean, put a great challenge in only to see the ball loop over Jordan Nixon off his touch.

West have been poor this half.

4:29pm

Sholing 1 (McClean 70) West Auckland Town 0

4:28pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Bowers booked for a foul.

4:24pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Lewis Fennemore booked for a foul on Gibson.

4:24pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

West skipper Andrew Green is replaced by Jonathan Gibson. Green was on a yellow card so I imagine it is just a precaution.

4:22pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Attendance here at Wembley, 5,431.

4:18pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Another chance for Barry Mason who gets clear in the area and fires wide. So wide, in fact, that it went out for a throw-in.

4:13pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Nixon denies Barry Mason who had the beating of West left-back Andrew Green, while Moffat lashes one over for West. Game picking up a bit here.

4:11pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Dan Miller comes on for Sholing, replacing Pete Castle.

4:10pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Rain falling heavily here at Wembley, few umbrellas popping up. Worked for Steve McClaren, I suppose.

4:09pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Couple of chances for Sholing as the second half gets under way. Tyronne Bowers rifles a shot over the bar from 35 yards, before Lee Wort draws a stop out of Nixon, and punches clear the follow-up.

4:01pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Will John Campbell live to regret that miss in the first half? It's the talking point in the press lounge at half-time. Had time and space and shanked it into the keeper's hands.

3:47pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

And that's half-time.

Chance wise, it's been even. West have gone close and made the keeper work a couple of times, while West's Jordan Nixon has had to be on his toes, especially in the early stages.

3:45pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Two minutes added on here.

3:43pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

OOF. Robert Briggs draws a stretching save out of Brown from a free-kick, while Mattie Moffat squanders a chance inside the area. West are turning the screw here. 43 played.

3:40pm

3:39pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Barry Mason gives the ball boys something to do with a high shot over Jordan Nixon's crossbar.

3:35pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Shaun Vipond's shot is well saved by Brown after Daryll Hall finds the West midfielder with a lovely long ball.

3:32pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Sholing go close, probably the best chance of the game so far. Marvin McClean wriggles past Green and curls over the bar.

3:29pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Byron Mason has been getting a bit of treatment for Sholing after Andrew Green clattered into him. West Auckland's captain has been booked for the challenge, the first of the afternoon.

3:22pm

3:21pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

John Campbell flashes a pass across the face of goal but Brown was out to pounce quickly.

3:15pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Good atmosphere at Wembley, bit of noise from both sets of fans.

3:11pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Nixon saves well from Lee Wort who stole into the West area. Good defending by West.

3:05pm

Sholing 0 West Auckland Town 0

Early chance for West, John Campbell fires straight into Matt Brown's hands after a decent through-ball.

2:57pm

National anthem done and dusted, it's time for a game of football.

2:55pm

2:54pm

All today's supporters are in one stand of the gigantic Wembley Stadium, with the Sholing fans nearest to us in the press box, and the West fans off to the left bedecked in their wasp-like colours.

It's a shorter trip for the South Coast-based Sholing, so they outnumber their opponents, but West are well-represented, make no mistake.

2:53pm

The teams are in - and not a minute too late.

WEST AUCKLAND (4-3-1-2): Nixon; Pattinson, Hall, Galpin, Green; Close, Vipond, Briggs; Knight; Moffat, Campbell. Subs: Banks, Garthwaite, Gibson, Wilkinson, Richardson.

SHOLING: Brown, Carter, Diaper, Castle, Bright, Bowers, Barry Mason, Fennemore, Wort, Byron Mason, McLean. Subs: Jarvis, Brewster, Miller, Sawyer, Watts.

2:42pm

Here's a jolly snap of the West Auckland fans heading off to Wembley - let's hope they are just as pleased for the return journey.
