AN ADVERTISING campaign urging motorists to drive with the safety of pedal and motorcyclists in mind has been launched ahead of the Tour de France Grand Depart.

The joint North Yorkshire County Council and North Yorkshire Police Think! Bike campaign will see posters and hoardings displayed in urban areas and along popular cycling and motorbike routes across the county.

Last year, 16 motorcyclists were killed on the county’s roads, while 52 cyclists were killed or seriously.
