FAB FLOURNOY has expressed his delight after guiding Esh Group Eagles Newcastle to a sixth British Basketball League title success.

The most successful player-coach in British sport was left thrilled after his team completed the job with an emphatic 106-58 win at Surrey United on Sunday.

He said: "I feel fabulous. There was so much anticipation coming into this weekend and getting over the line.

"There's a big difference in getting to the line and then successfully crossing over it.

"Now we have finally done it, I'd like to say thanks to all my team-mates since they've been through a lot this season."

"I'd also like to say a thank you to the organisation, the fans and my coaching staff for putting together a good team and one that has brought silverware back to Newcastle."

Meanwhile managing director Paul Blake said: "It's been great to have been subjected to the level of competition we have experienced this year.

"I can only see it getting even tougher for the league winners during the next few BBL seasons.

"For now we can enjoy what is our eighteenth trophy in a decade."
