AIMEE WILLMOTT'S fine recent run continued as she claimed a silver medal in the 200m Individual Medley at the British Gas Swimming Championships in Glasgow on Sunday.

Middlesbrough's Willmott, who won a gold medal in her preferred event of the 400 IM on Thursday, set a new personal best over the shorter distance as she finished within a second of the winner, Siobhan O'Connor.

O'Connor will almost certainly represent England in the 200m IM in this summer's Commonwealth Games, but Willmott's performance means she could now join her on the starting blocks and double up in both medley events.

Sunday's time of 2:10.60 will potentially enable her to compete for a 200m IM final place at the Commonwealths and her domestic success might not be finished yet as she is also due to compete in the 200m freestyle later this week.
