HARTLEPOOL UNITED have signed two young prospects from Sunderland to boost their injury-hit squad.

Scott Harrison and Connor Oliver, both 20, have moved on loan until the end of the season.

Harrison, a centre-half, signed for the Black Cats in December 2012 from Darlington, while utilty player Oliver is second year professional at the Stadium of Light after progressing through the youth ranks.

Both will be in contention for Saturday's game with Cheltenham at Victoria Park

Pools have also extended the loan spell of Jack Barmby from Manchester United until the end of the season.

Jack Compton and Darren Holden are expected to be fit for the weekend after going off in the midweek defeat to Mansfield at Victoria Park.  Marlon Harewood (ankle) remains a doubt, while Antony Sweeney is likely to miss the rest of the season with a hamstring strain.
