HARTLEPOOL UNITED kept up their play-off hopes, as they brushed aside Bristol Rovers 4-0 for their third comprehensive win in a row at home – closed the gap to three points and they sit in tenth spot.
Only 58 seconds had gone when Pools took the lead.

Jack Barmby’s corner was headed on by Luke James and Marlon Harewood was unmarked to head in his second goal for the club from close range.
Pools doubled the lead on 16 minutes, with a touch of sheer class. Bradley Walker took a touch to create space and curled a delightful shot into the corner of the net from 25 yards.
The midfielder was denied a second from similar distance, keeper Steve Mildenhall going full-stretch to tip it over.
And Pools hit a third goal on 56 minutes. Harewood was bundled over in the area by the hapless Tom Parkes and Simon Walton confidently rolled home from the penalty spot.
The only time the Gas threatened was when a shot from substitute Chris Beardsley hit the crossbar on 84 minutes.
Pools capped it off on 90 minutes, with Jon Franks cracking in from 12 yards after Luke James hit the post.
