SUNDERLAND'S Adam Johnson has been overlooked by Roy Hodgson for England's friendly with Denmark next week.

The winger was hopeful of being given a chance to impress and try and earn a place in the squad for this summer's World Cup - but hopes of going to Brazil can be put to one side now after this snub.

Hodgson watched Johnson in action for the Black Cats in their recent home defeat to Hull, but wasn't moved enough to pick him.
