Another postponement for Quakers
Darlington have had to pencil in yet another rearranged game after Saturday's fixture with Lancaster City became their third successive postponement at Heritage Park.
An early morning inspection confirmed expectations that the pitch was waterlogged, meaning Quakers have now not played at home since January 4.
They are away on four of their next five Saturdays - at Radcliffe Borough this weekend, although this weekend's postponed fixture with Lancaster City has now been rearranged for Wednesday, February 26.
The run of postponements have come at an inopportune moment as Quakers have been in good form - winning ten of their last 11 games - although they were not on their own in being hit by the weather on Saturday as every game in the Evo-Stik First Division was called off.
Darlington will hope for better luck with their pitch once they move back to Blackwell Meadows next season and the switch is expected to take a step closer this week as an emergency general meeting has been called for the members of Darlington Rugby Football Club to ratify the groundshare agreement.
The rugby club released a statement at the weekend, saying: "After a unanimous vote from the elected directors of the board to agree in principle a ground share agreement with Darlington FC from August 2014, therefore as previously by the board in two open meetings, have agreed to present the ground share agreement to the members for ratification.
"Formal notification will be issued in the next five days.
"This meeting is open to all members, however only those with full voting rights, as dictated by our constitution, will be allowed to cast a vote on the proposal."
Meanwhile, Darlington supporters have until the end of the month to cast their vote in the poll to decide which kit they will wear next season.
Avec, a North-East company, will produce the strips and supporters have a choice of three to choose from.
A club statement read: "We have listened to supporters' concerns over delivery times and stock levels of our replica kits during the current season and have therefore teamed up with Avec to offer three options.
"The increased retail cost of kits one and three reflect the fact that they are a bespoke design, whereas kit two is a standard Avec kit, so more freely available.
This is also reflected in the lead times and order levels for repeat orders. Whichever kit is picked, we expect to take delivery of our order in June, in plenty of time for fans to wear them on their summer holidays!"
To cast a vote, email kitvote@dfc1883. co.uk with the subject line "Kit 1", "Kit 2" or "Kit 3". Voting slips are also available at Quaker Retail in Darlington's covered market. The voting process ends at 5pm on Friday, February 28.
Only one vote per person will be counted and all entries will be entered into a prize draw to win a shirt signed by the players.
