SUNDERLAND have left out Lee Cattermole for Wednesday's home game against his potential suitors Stoke City.
Cattermole, the subject of interest from Potters boss Mark Hughes, is reportedly suffering with a calf injury and is not in Gus Poyet's squad at the Stadium of Light.
In his place, Jack Colback comes into the midfield while Jozy Altidore starts up front. Steven Fletcher is on the bench, alongside Connor Wickham, who has returned from his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday.
Those changes apart, Sunderland line up with the same personnel that started at Old Trafford a week ago, with new boys Oscar Ustari and Santiago Vergini on the bench.
For Stoke, Peter Odemwingie, who moved to the Britannia Stadium yesterday from Cardiff City, starts up front alongside Peter Crouch, while Charlie Adam is handed a start having played a pivotal role in sendings-off for Sunderland players in the last two times these teams have met.
John Guidetti, whose agent used to be Sunderland's now-sacked director of football Roberto de Fanti, is on the Potters bench having completed a loan move from Manchester City.
SUNDERLAND (4-1-4-1): Mannone; Bardsley, O'Shea, Brown, Alonso; Colback; Johnson, Ki, Larsson, Borini; Altidore. Subs: Ustari, Gardner, Fletcher, Wickham, Celustka, Giaccherini, Vergini.
