Great Britain collected four more medals on the final day of the European Short-Course Championships in Herning, Denmark - two of them to North-East swimmers.

Jemma Lowe claimed her second medal this week - having won 200m butterfly bronze earlier in the meet - as she won silver in the 100m butterfly.

Lowe, from Hartlepool, lowered her Welsh record to reach the podium in 56.32 seconds behind Sweden's world champion Sarah Sjostrom (55.78).

Aimee Willmott and Chris Walker-Hebborn also medalled for the Brits as the 12-strong team finished with eight medals in total.

Middlesbrough's Willmott continued her record-breaking form as she clinched bronze from the 400m individual medley final.

Willmott, who broke her long-course national marker eight days ago, set an English record 4:25.37 to reach the podium behind Spain's Mireia Belmonte Garcia (4:21.23) and Hungary's Katinka Hosszu (4:24.69), while Great Britain's Hannah Miley finished fourth, touching in 4:28.56.

Olympic silver medallist Michael Jamieson claimed silver in the 200 metres breaststroke, knocking more than a second off his British record as he took on Olympic and world champion Daniel Gyurta, leading the Hungarian with 50m to go before being caught in the final two lengths.
