TWO second-half goals from Jon Franks earned Hartlepool United a point at Cheltenham.

After falling two goals down, in the first half, Pools came back strongly in the second period to end a run of three successive away defeats.

Pools fell one-down on four minutes, after a horrible mix up between Scott Flinders and Neil Austin presented Jermaine McGlashan with an open goal to roll in.

Franks had a close-range header saved well by Scott Brown, but Pools were two-down on 37 minutes.

The home side were allowed to keep the ball alive around the penalty area, and from a left-wing cross Kemar Roofe flicked a header over and above Flinders.

Franks had a goal harshly ruled out on half-time, Sweeney ruled to have fouled in the build-up.

Colin Cooper switched to a 4-4-2 set-up from 3-5-2 and Pools reacted positively.

A long, wind-assisted kick from Flinders opened things up for Franks to nip in and score.

And, with confidence returning, Pools drew level on 70 minutes. Franks held up the ball on the edge of the area and fired in off the inside of the post.
