Tinning escapes from nervy start by maintaining two shot lead at Rockliffe
OVERNIGHT leader Steen Tinning survived a scare on the first tee to begin the final day of the English Senior Open positively.
The Denmark golfer hooked his first shot of the day left in to deep rough so took a provisional. When he got to the top of the mound, he found his original ball and went on to make par at the first.
He has since birdied the third to move to 13 under at Rockliffe Hall after steaming in to the lead by breaking the course record with a sublime 63 yesterday.
Spaniard Santiago Luna had earlier closed the advantage to within a shot with an early birdie in his round, but Tinning is on his way once more.
