Storm and Parry eye up Dubai trip after Welsh boost
GRAEME STORM and John Parry are closing in on the Race to Dubai's best 60 players after claiming top ten finishes at the ISPS Handa Wales Open.
Despite an inability to stay with eventual winner Gregory Bourdy yesterday, the North-East duo were still in the money to strengthen hopes of appearing in the $8m World Tour Championship in November.
Storm's final round 71 saw him end a credible tied sixth on two under for the tournament - even though he will be slightly disappointed he did not win after spending the weekend in contention at Celtic Manor.
The Hartlepool golfer's financial boost to the tune of around £65,000 did see him edge towards the top 60 in the rankings, which would secure his place in the Dubai showpiece if he can climb in.
Parry is similarly placed too. He won around £93,000 by finishing a shot better off on tied fourth, which was five short of eventual winner Bourdy.
The Harrogate golfer made steady progress up the leaderboard yesterday when he posted a fourth round 68, three under, to make amends for his Saturday 73.
