NEW Year; same success story for Newcastle Falcons.

Dean Richards' side began 2013 in impressive style as they maintained their 100 per cent record for the season and secured a bonus-point win at Doncaster.

Teenage winger Zach Kibirige claimed two tries, with a further score from Rory Lawson and a penalty try ensuring a maximum haul in the New Year's Day encounter.

Falcons have now won all 17 of their matches in all competitions this season and remain comfortably on top of the Championship table as attention switches back to the British & Irish Cup.

"I've seen a lot of New Year's Day games that have turned out to be disastrous for teams," said Richards. "But we came down here and did the job.

"There were a lot of errors from both sides, but we still came away with five points and that is the pleasing thing for me.

"We've obviously got a lot to work on, and we had a chat in the changing room after the game. If you look at Doncaster's record at home, it's not bad. We really expected a tough test and we got it."
