ALAN PARDEW has called on Sylvain Marveaux in the hope of seeing Newcastle United return to winning ways at home to Wigan tonight.

After four successive Premier League defeats, Marveaux will be asked to provide the width down the right in the absence of Hatem Ben Arfa.

The Frenchman's inclusion is likely to mean that Vurnon Anita can slot in to the middle of midfield alongside Cheik Tiote as James Perch (suspension) and Yohan Cabaye (hernia) miss out.

That is the only change to the Newcastle team which lost at Stoke City last week and Pardew is hoping the alteration can prevent him from becoming the first Magpies boss to lose five consecutive Premier League defeats.
