Pandora by Anne Rice book review by Adam Gardiner

12:12pm Tuesday 17th June 2008

Well after reading interview with the vampire I was hungry for more from Anne Rice so I popped down to the library and grabbed a load. Anyway this is the first one I picked up and I was not disappointed I mean it wasnt as epic as interview with the vampire but it was certainly good. It tells the tale of a woman called Lydia but she changes her name half way though (if you want to know why read the book) and it tells her story of how she became a vampire and the early origins of the mysterious race. And how they actually originated from a Greek goddess called Isis. but anyway it is set in Rome but later moves to a place called Antioch, where the remainder of the story is set. But anyway when Pandora or Lydia or whatever was a little girl their family was quite well respected and she wanted to marry this fellow called Marius, but her dad was like no dont think so. But anyway she needs to flee to Antioch cause of a complication, I wont reveal too much because I am in danger of ruining the story for all of you. Well in Antioch she meets this Marius again but this time he is a vampire (shock horror!) and he tells her to leave Antioch .

This is a great book for anyone who likes a mixture of gratuitous amount of blood and gore, the occasional love scene and twists and turns in the tale.

Let’s Get Lost, Author: Sarra Manning

9:50am Friday 15th February 2008

Book: Let's Get Lost Author: Sarra Manning In my words this book means a lot to me as it was one of the first books I ever read and could relate to, I find it hard to find a teen novel that does that so well. When I first picked up the book the cover seemed eye catching and quite sophisticated. Reading the book didn't take me long at all, as I never put it down! It seemed like a life so different to an average teenagers but with the same problems.' While reading this book I thought Sarra (the author) had intended to create a classic teen life-style with a twist. In the story the main character Isabelle is left motherless after a tragic accident that you first know little about.
