The end of season PFA awards are to be announced shortly and here at rE-view we are picking our winners of the awards. There are awards for the player of the year, young player of the year and team of the year. The candidates for the player of the year award are Emmanuel Adebayor, Cesc Fabregas, Steven Gerrard, David James, Cristiano Ronaldo and Fernando Torres. Fabregas, Ronaldo and Torres are also up for the young player of the year along with English trio Gabriel Agbonlahor, Micah Richards and Ashley Young.

Voting for the awards took place in January, so the winners are going to be the player's who performed exceptionally well at the start of the season. Every footballer in the Premier League votes for whom they would choose for each award with the stipulation that they cannot chose a player from their own club.

Player of the Year

It is impossible to look beyond Cristiano Ronaldo for this award. The winger has been in dazzling form throughout the season. He has currently scored 38 goals in the season; a figure many strikers only dream of reaching, and Ronaldo's a midfielder! He has scored many spectacular goals and helped his team to the top of the Premier League with multiple match winning displays.

Adebayor started the season brilliantly but his performances have fallen away towards the end of the season. Due to the voting, this could work well for him so don't be surprised to see him in the top three. Cesc Fabregas is another who started the season on fire but fatigue took over towards the end. He has emerged as the main man at Arsenal; a huge responsibility for a 20 year old. Steven Gerrard has not been his usual brilliant self this season and is a surprise candidate on the shortlist. He has been overshadowed by the brilliant Fernando Torres and Javier Mascherano at Anfield this season. David James has left many pundits eating their words with a number of superb displays. He has helped Portsmouth battle for Europe all season and steered them towards Wembley in the F.A. Cup with a few math winning performances. He is now believed to be the favourite to become Capello's number one next season. Fernando Torres has taken to English football like a duck to water. He has scored over 20 goals throughout the season and has numerously been the difference in games for Liverpool this season.

Young Player of the Year

With the top three players of the year also nominated for this award, the results will be the same. It shows the Premier League's best players are still going to be around for many years to come.

The other nominees have all had brilliant seasons and are unlucky to be short listed alongside the best three players in the country. Gabriel Agbonlahor has been a major player in a resurgent Aston Villa side this season. The Brummie has caught the eye with his pace and his eye for goal and will be getting closer attention from Fabio Capello next season. Micah Richards has showed maturity beyond his years with a dominant season at the back for Manchester City. Alongside Richard Dunne he has formed a solid partnership that has seen City beat their city rivals twice this season. It is no surprise Richards' injury has coincided with Man City's slump in form. Ashley Young has finally showed why Aston Villa splashed out over £10 million for him 18 months ago. He has caused problems for every defence with his dribbling and crossing abilities all season whether he has been playing on the left, the right or in the hole behind the strikers. He could also finally be the solution to England's problematic left side of midfield.
