The Cribs, Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong, Does It Offend You, Yeah? And The Ting Tings all teamed up for the NME Awards 08'.

On stage first were The Ting Tings a two piece band from London, they've been highly tipped to be big this year by radio 1's Jo Whiley and with the performance they pull off you can certainly tell where Jo's coming from. They're gossip meet's the Pipettes! They're catchy, original, and for a two piece band they create a great sound.

For the next band on, you really needed a lot of energy. Does It Offend You, Yeah? are merely here to have fun, whether that's bombarding us with beach balls, practicing high dives off the bass drum or dancing the crowd into an absolute frenzy. Their techno beat tracks were literally bouncing off the walls and so were their fans!

After that exciting performance, Joe Lean came on and calmed most of the crowd down. Right now they're one of the buzz bands at the moment also being tipped to be massive. Joe Lean himself is a consummate skinny little rock n' roll frontman with plenty of onstage charisma, which the crowd enjoyed. Their tight riffs seemed to keep everyone sane and really Joe Lean is the type of band which you can appreciate.

However really everyone is here for The Cribs. "Don't You Want To Be Relevant?" is their opener and it certainly got everyone in the venue moving. When they play you think about nothing else but the music, they played an excellent set featuring tracks from all their three albums.

The Cribs are one of the best bands I've ever seen live, they have real stage presence and the music is fantastic.

If you weren't at this tour then you really missed out big time.

Sophie - couldn't agree with you more on the Cribs! What a band live! Just NUTS when I saw them, and reading your review does make me jealous that I missed out in the tour. :)
