The two bands on this week were Never Enough and Girlfixer.

First up was Never Enough from Darlington who joined together in June 2009. The band actually started with two other members but “they sucked” and so they are now a 4 piece.

The members are:

• Danny- Lead singer

• Tom- Bass

• Shrimpy- Guitarist

• Johnny- Drums

They got the name “Never Enough” from a series of names they didn’t like and settled for this on.

There genre is Punk/Metal and are all influenced by different people. These influences are the likes of Avenged Sevenfold, Blink182 etc. Their dream is to open for Greenday.

When asked what they would ask for to play a gig they simply said “a bit of everything”.

The thoughts of NewBlood was it was a good experience, particularly because it was their first proper gig as the four of them and nothing went wrong- it was therefore rather good.

On stage they opened with “Welcome To Paradise” and also played others such as “Umbrella”, “Radio Song”, “The middle” and many more. They finished the set with “Plug in Baby”.

For this weeks special poll it was tea/coffee and the chosen on was Tea with 3, but Johnny got no vote as he disliked both.

In the future they are hoping to record new songs with the money they have received form the “DOSH Fund”.

Second up was the girl fronted Punk/Rock band- Girlfixer with:

Antony- Guitarist

Natalie- Vocalist

Nicola- Drummer

Lance- Bassist

They formed around four years ago in April (2006) when the met in college and did music together.

They got their name “Girlfixer” from a Distiller’s song and it is also an urban slang for a girl who doesn’t take rubbish from anyone.

They are influenced by, obviously, Distillers, Bronks, Gallows, Rage Against the Machine and others like that and they would love to play for Biffy Clyro/ Bronks.

Whilst on stage they opened with “Stitches”. The set then continued with “Casualty”, “Human Pollution” and “Blackout”. However there was then a real casualty with Antony’s guitar as the string broke and so there was a slight interlude. Once fixed the band came back just as good and finished the set, firstly with “Nation of Sedation”, “Vos” and their new song, which has been named “Time”. They closed the set with “Regret This”.

Minus the slight set back they thought NewBlood was “awesome” and energetic with a big scene.

When they were asked if they could ask for anything in order to play a gig they simply said Jelly Tits, Cider, Guinness and a Widescreen TV with Sensible Soccer.

For our poll the band voted a dead split, with two for coffee and two for tea.

In the future they are simply hoping to do a lot of more gigs.

As a whole NewBlood was a great night with good music and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
