The incredible Bombay Bicycle Club are back in Newcastle after just 7 months and yet again they do not disappoint. Starting with Emergency Contraception Blues the crowded room jitters and surges along to the undeniably contagious rhythm. Young they may be, but Bombay Bicycle Club certainly know how to rock ‘n’ roll. The band pour immeasurable zestful energy to their catchy riffs, bringing to life their Strokes influence on track How Are You which really gets the sold out crowd moving. However Open House and Always Like This are the top showcases of their gifted talent, with outstanding captivating baselines with lead vocalist Jack Steadman’s emotive and changing time signature. Flying into The Hill the crowd dance themselves into a frenzy, the melodies are confidently infectious and the audience seems to be lapping it up. Steadman seems totally absorbed in the moment, jumping with endless energy around the small stage, adding plenty of edge and focus to their performance. Tracks Cancel On Me and Ghost prove to be an instant pleasers, energizing tonight’s audience with a melody that creeps through your veins. Bombay Bicycle Club prove to be an outstanding live and recording band, it’s just a matter of time before they become one of the best bands in the UK.
