Paramore – Brick by Boring Brick is a song about a little girl who’s life is really bad, so she creates her own fairytale world to hide away from the stress of reality. When she realises she can’t hide anymore she starts ‘digging a hole’ in her memory to bury the make believe things and come into the real world. Hayley Williams (lead singer) buries the girls at the end to show that she is overcome by all the lies in life. Josh Farro (guitarist) is digging the hole all the way throughout the song, maybe knowing that the girl is going to fall into the grave. It is a very touching song which gets you to notice you can’t hide from reality all of your life.
