I MUST be getting old because my musical tastes appear to be getting less and less challenging.
I'm more ready to accept things for what they are and just enjoy them.
Take Athlete's new album, Black Swan. None of the ten tracks require any great cerebral exercising, but, nevertheless, all are thoroughly entertaining.
If anything, the album gets better the further you get into it from the opening strains of Superhuman Touch to the last note of Rubiks Cube.
Good, inoffensive, friendly, stadium rock.
Pass my pipe and slippers.
