The Automatic are not doing anything wholly original, and you probably haven’t heard of them since the single “What’s That Coming Over The hill?”

From the seaside town of Brighton Blood Red Shoes consists of two members Steven Ansell and Laura-Mary Carter. I caught up with them for a chat just as they’re coming close to the end of their UK tour. We discussed several topics from clothes to untalented bands to obsessive fans, most definitely two of the friendliest people I’ve ever met.

This was arguably the most exciting musical event this year. Sod the festivals, this was Metallica, and at the new Wembley stadium! Albeit it not being the full whack of 90,000 people, the 60,000 odd metalheads still made the atmosphere more electric than Hetfield’s guitar.

Youth movies seem as though they’ve been around for a while. The English rock quintet formed back in the distant past of 2003 and it’s taken them a while to fully release their true sound. However they’re clever, original and unpredictable.

British singer, song writer and musician, Jack Peñate is back in Newcastle with more indie pop than ever before. He’s known for his soulful ska-fuelled songs and eccentric dancing and his live performances always receive very high praise.
