Hot Rod tells the tale of Rod Kimble who is possibly the worlds worst stuntman you will ever see as he sets out to jump 15 school buses on his moped.

Rod grew up beliving his dead father was a stuntman with the great Evel Knievel so sets out to follow him in his footsteps. Attempting to jump swiming pools and vans on his moped with the help of his friends who are members of his stunt backup team. The stunts in the film are brilliantly bad and very funny as well. Perhaps the funniest scenes are the fight scenes with Rod and his step father who is played by the brillant Ian McShane. Rod craves the respect of his stepfather and in hi attempts to prove his manhood to him regularly attempts to beat him in combat. It's when his stepfather falls ill and needs a heart op, Rod comes up with idea of jumping 15 school buses to raise the money to pay for his stepfathers heart op just so he can have another go at kicking his butt and winning his respect.

Hot Rod is a very funny movie and was one of last years gems that not many people heard about, yeah it won't win any awards but what it does do is make you laugh out loud.
