Eragon is the first of a three book series and is (in a nutshell) about a boy who owns a dragon It’s not as breathtaking as it first sounds but it is a really good book. Unlike most dragon books, a dragon can talk through its thoughts to its owner(known as a rider). These riders also gain a number of useful things, such as the appearance of an elf and magic.

Eragon first finds the dragon as an egg, which looks like a shiny rock. When it hatches it is small. A while after it is huge and these mysterious creatures called the Raaz’ak are after them, they flee in hope of protection. This book is really good and will have you wanting to know what will happen from the first page.
