I WAS not surprised when the “Heathrow run-a-way” did not emerge from his hideaway during Donald Trump’s visit to our country.

The president did us all a favour when he gave Boris Johnson the “kiss of death” by praising his leadership qualities and promoting him as a future PM.

Whilst I do not agree with his fellow cabinet ministers, who resigned, I give them credit for not being afraid to appear in public and give their reasons.

True to form, Boris stayed out of sight whilst he studied which way the wind was blowing.

Remember, prior to the EU referendum, he stayed in the background before emerging to stab David Cameron in the back and using Brexit to promote his leadership bid.

Nothing has changed and no doubt we will hear from him at a time which he considers his most advantageous moment.
