I HAVE always been an enthusiast when it comes to vintage cars and motor cycles, but unfortunately had commitments last weekend so missed all four of the events taking place in the North-East.

Consequently I could not take advantage of the gatherings of enthusiastic drivers and their vehicles at Stokesley on Saturday 17th, plus Bedale, Raby Castle and also the Beamish Endurance Trials on Sunday 18th where over 100 entrants tested themselves and their vehicles on this annual event.

Fortunately the Echo has carried short articles with photos on these events to give an indication of what was present at the rallies and in my case what I had missed.

My request or observations are quite simple, and directed at the organisers perhaps. Would it not make sense to spread these events over a series of weekends to enable the drivers to attend all or any of them, showing off their cars to a wider audience and also to the advantage of avid spectators like myself that could not get to any of them?

Disappointed, but there is always next year, if they are well advertised beforehand.
