AFTER the Darlington Binns closure announcement Cllr McEwan says the council will “support the town centre and encourage people to continue to visit”.
I hope it’s not too late.
When in Darlington I used the wrong ticket machine to buy a parking ticket and was given a fixed penalty by a traffic warden.
I explained in an appeal that I had paid for parking and had a ticket and asked for the fine to be quashed but the council refused my appeal and took me to court.
It cost me a day off work and £180 in fine/costs.
In Keswick I got a fine because my parking ticket slipped down the gap between dash and windscreen.
I explained in an appeal that it was lost down there and could not be produced.....and they cancelled it.
Well done Keswick. If anyone's over that way may I recommend their thriving town centre.
That’s how you attract visitors to your town, although I think the damage has already been done.
