WELL, Darlington Council have granted a further planning permission for another 75 houses in Heighington.

They ignored the problem of the full village school, and the fact that short of demolishing houses, that access is going to be dangerous, walking to school or into the village will mean walking on the road, where the road is single track, that the traffic passing through the village as a rat run at busy times, is going to be exacerbated. Also ignoring ideas to look at and sort the traffic issues.

That development will make flooding issues worse, that the developers have not been required to build any bungalows or homes for the elderly, we have had traffic operatives telling us that there is no traffic problem, when they visit at non rush hour times.

Again, this council are unrepresentative and negligent. Let’s hope that the residents both old and new do not come to regret this numbskull decision.

It’s just a pity those who have experience could not knock some sense into these time servers.
