HAVING all your eggs in one basket means if something goes wrong it can cause a bit of a pong.

Tees Valley mayor Ben Houchen gets top marks for effort, but his plan B leaves a lot to be desired.

Is the former SSI steelworks site in Redcar the only available land for redevelopment on the Tees Valley?

All of the redevelopment projects and job projections are concentrated into one single area and the Tees Valley don’t even own it.

Jobseekers are constantly told that they need to get job ready, yet the team at Tees Valley aren’t even site ready.

Major projects such as the off-site construction centre for the £14 billion third runway for Heathrow Airport will pass Teesside by as fast as speeding light. Unlike the other 65 potential bidders who are all primed and ready to rock and roll, the SSI site is still on snooze mode.

As a result the team at Tees Valley are literally sleepwalking into a very long line of losing bids.

Now is the time to bite the bullet and move on to a site Tees Valley actually do own.
