I THINK it’s about time the giving of percentage pay rises should be scrapped – it’s very unfair.

A worker on a low wage gets less than a worker on a higher wage, i.e. five per cent is less on £5,000 than five per cent on £10,000. A tradesman will get more than a tradesman’s mate.

After all, a loaf of bread costs the same for both. The gap between them gets wider as time and pay rises increase.
