Letters with opened envelopes
HOW sad to learn of the demise of Lands Cricket Club (Mike Amos’ Backtrack, Mar 15). I have special memories of encounters there with Cockerton Seconds, with a particular match etched in my record book, trundling up hill into the wind and drizzle for 20 plus overs unchanged (thanks skip!) and taking a few for not too many!
But the teas were good and the opposition full of characters. They will be sadly missed.
