WITH respect to VJ Connor’s criticism of Conservative PMs (Echo, Mar 6), I suggest he offers a balanced argument when making his case, then the reading public will pay more respect to his comments.

Imagine, readers, if he had mentioned the great Mr Tony Blair, now there’s a name to conjure with, a man who resigned as PM in mid-stream when at the zenith of his powers. What a man of principle. By the way, Mr Connor, you could go to town on the average Labour supporter’s regard for that man these days.

Then again, what about his assistant PM, John Prescott, a guy who almost made a living for 40 years ridiculing The House of Lords, then joining it.

Regarding discontent re the young conservatives changing parties and voting for Mr Corbyn, enabling him to be elected PM I will be interested to see where he raises the money to pay for all UK students to enter universities free of charge, forcing Mrs May to have her majority weakened, we shall see!
