I WAS expecting a phone call from my boiler installer as I had been in touch with them earlier and was informed they would be ringing back as soon as possible.

When the phone rang about 20 minutes later I immediately answered without checking the number then a recorded message informed me that a serious law suit was being filed against me so it suggested that I was to ring back on the number they were giving.

At this point I hung up the phone aware that someone was trying a scam on me. Normally, when the phone rings we always check the number and if we don’t recognise the caller, if it’s number with-held or an international number, we put down the phone immediately.

Too many times we recognise someone is trying it on so we are always on guard. Except today.

Your readers might have experienced similar calls but this one is new to me.

Use this as a warning to all your readers to be aware and in the meantime I shall be watching for the postie with a very official looking envelope.
