AS someone who has vast experience of snow and ice driving, I have always been critical of the way motorists have disorganised themselves as soon as two flakes of snow arrive.

I am therefore somewhat impressed that on this occasion, perhaps spurred on by the severity of the weather, most motorists seem to have conducted themselves in a more sensible manner. Mainly, I would say, by staying off the road and away from the action. This has meant those who are correctly equipped and competent have been able to get about in a more normal manner. Now you know how it is done it, next time it snows, do the same again please.
