AFTER getting a reminder from the Swansea DVLA about my driving licence soon to expire I decided to save time and money by submitting the application online.

As I had previously used this method before I was registered on the Government Gateway User service which makes the online service so easy and useful.

I completed the the application form in minutes, no more than five in total then pinged it off to Swansea, promising to return my old licence to them duly cut in half.

The form advised that the new licence could take up to two weeks to being received. That was Monday. Imagine my surprise when I opened my post on Thursday and found my new licence ready to use. Well done DVLA Swansea.
